The school has an interesting history and came into being as a result of earnest efforts of Late Sh. Narayan Dass Ji, Sanghthan Mantri Vidya Bharti Uttar Keshtra comprising of states Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, H.P and J&K since long, desired to have a residential school in the SHIVALIK HILLS. He persued the Ministry of Defence in 1984, for the permission of a school at DAGSHAI CANTT. as there was a building owned by Hindu Shiksha Samiti, Kurukshetra lying vacant, but the permission was not granted by the concerned authorities, and therefore, the idea was postponed. He, however, continued to pursue the matter and ultimately, when in the year 1993, he put forth the proposal before the working committee of SARVHITKARI SHIKSHA SAMITI, CHANDIGARH the same was accepted by the SAMITI. The SARVHITKARI SHIKSHA NIKETAN was started at DAGSHAI CANTT. in April, 1993.
Sh. Madan Jindal, S/o Sh. Ramashwar Dass Ji went to enquire about the health of Sh. Narayan Dass Ji when he was ailing seriously in his old age at Chandigarh, Sh. Narayan Dass Ji expressed his desire to him that the school be taken over by the Jindal Charitable Trust. A piece of land measuring about 18 Bighas was purchased on Barog Bye Pass road near Kumarhatti, in Distt. Solan on National Highway No 22 and construction of the building itself, on an area of 4 Bighas, was started in 1997.
